Woof. Eating is my job.

I am so full guys.  Like, soooo full.  I'm not supposed to 'let' myself get more than 'satisfied' BUT I also have all sorts of things I have to get in in a given day and you know what?  It's freaking hard.

They advanced my diet at my Doc's appt yesterday so I'm now eating some heavier things and it makes you fuller faster than softer liquidy stuff.

I need to get at least 8 glasses of liquid and  about 70 grams of protein.  But I have to stop drinking 15 mins before eating and then an hour after.  Oh - and I need to really work on getting all my protein in because I've been missing the mark (despite my best efforts). That means eating or drinking more.  Thing is, I'm good after 3 meals that I don't *want* a snack.  There isn't enough time in the day to get all that food and drink in.

Here is what my day looked like, more or less:

8 - Wake (dress, tend to daughter, take to school, etc)
9 - Drink something quickly.
9:30 - Half wheat english muffin with peanut butter
10:30 - start drinking again - stop at Noon.  Only got in like 16 ounces.  Need to be faster.
12:30 - one turkey hotdog with some cheese.
1:30 - start drinking again.
3:00 - Yogurt (protein!)  Took me an hour to eat it.
5:00 - drink a little more.
6-7:30 - Mommy time.  Get daughter, play, bathe, bed, etc.
8:00 - dinner.  I wasn't hungry, at all.  But I have no where near the protein I need for the day and for the first day since surgery I haven't had my shake yet.  I made eggs and ate very little.  I am now VERY full.

I wish I had listened to my body and not eaten, but I know that right now the most important thing is getting in the protein and that if I can't eat I'm supposed to, at a minimum have a shake or some milk.  I guess I should have done that instead.

Not only that but I STILL have 32 ounces of liquid to get in and it's almost 9 PM.  I'm full and exhausted.

  1. Wow, that's a lot of liquid. I can only imagine how full you feel. I hope it gets better soon, Megan!

  2. wow, hope it gets easier--did they have or have you found any suggestions for getting that much in? Are there more protein dense things you could have so you don't have to eat as much?

    1. Doesn't really get any more protein dense than eating meat/eggs, you know? It's just the eating when you're not even hungry that is so annoying and counter-intuitive. Like today I've had breakfast, 36 oz of water, lunch and a protein shake I can't believe I still have to have 4 glasses of liquid and dinner. Barf.
