I feel like today, so far, has been one of my best eating days since advancing my diet (and learning I wasn't getting near as much protein as I thought I was or how much I need). So what am I eating? Let's take a look-see, shall we?
Breakfast: Still having rolled oats a lot but I switched to Skim Plus milk for the extra bump of protein. I also add a little cinnamon and a teeeny bit of sugar-free maple syrup.
Morning Snack: I tried a new protein drink today that's not 'milkshake' like. It also has the pure 'whey protein isolate" that my nutritionist really wants us to have. It was OK. It wasn't terrible, I didn't gag but it wasn't delicious.
Lunch: This lunch was really yummy. Every time I try something I haven't had in a while it becomes the yummiest thing ever until I get sick of it :) I made the tuna just how I like it (really mushed up with very little mayo - nearly dry). The chips/crackers are so good - have you had them? I could only find one cracker with 3+g of fiber (Triscuits) which I don't love. I remembered this and they're all made with stone ground corn, no refined carbs, seeds, good oils, nuts, etc. They are really so delicious. I ate it all over about 40 mins and was perfectly content.
Afternoon Snack: Found a greek yogurt that is actually yummy! High calorie because of the roasted almonds you mix in (ZOMG) but yummy. and protein filled. Score!
Dinner: I am planning to try beef tonight, we'll see how it goes. I love cheeseburgers and obviously haven't had one in a long long time so I'm going to cook one, serve half, and see how I do. I already know that I'll have to eat it very slowly.
So, how'd I do? My Nutritionist hates MyFitnessPal (the app I used to track) and would rather we do it by hand because she says that it counts "incomplete" proteins like in the Oatmeal and they don't 'count' for her. Whatever. The real count then, according to what my Nutritionist wants to see is 67g of protein which is perfectly in my 60-80 target range. Calories just getting in under my 800 target cap.
I am thrilled with how well today went - maybe I'm getting the hang of this? Oh, well, I still have 3 cups of water to drink..... :)
