In case anyone reading (really, does anyone read this?) is curious what the clear liquids diet entails, I'll tell you. I can have water, Sprite, clear juices (apple, lemonade), tea, Gatorade (not red), Jello (not red) and broths. I've had a headache all weekend (hellllooooo Diet Coke detox) and I can't take Advil so I'm getting by on Tylenol. It's reminding me of my pregnancy (it not a good way, lol).
So for Monday I have to check in at 7AM. Jim's guess is that they'll take me back at 9AM and that my surgery will be around 10AM. Not the first person of the day like I hoped, but not terrible (and the first case has to check in at 5AM - wooof). I recall hearing that the procedure itself is fairly quick and simple. I'll then go to the recovery area for a little bit. Jim tells me that visitors where are limited to something like 5 mins every 30 mins or something so he's already planning to bring his coat and his ID and try to get allowed to stay longer. The perks of being a patient in the Hospital where your husband works! :)
That's all for now. I cycle through being ready to just get this party started already and being completely and totally freaked out and panicking. Today Jim's Mom is coming down to help with Jane (we're both stressed out - and she's feeling it too). Jim and I are also sneaking out this afternoon for massages together. Looking forward to that for sure!
I'll post 'before' pics later today or tomorrow morning. Other than that, say a few extra prayers for me and I'll see you on the other side.
I'll be thinking of you, Megan!
ReplyDeleteYes, people are reading and thinking good thoughts for you :) I'm a horrible blog commenter but I know you're going to to do great.
ReplyDeleteWe've heard that you're out of surgery and doing well. I hope you have a smooth recovery!
