Breakfast

I thought I'd do a series of posts on what I eat.  Not that I have any readers that are considering surgery (or, really at all besides a few friends...) but I liked reading blogs as  I was planning my surgery and I always wished there was more info about what people ate.

Certainly the eating side of things is very different immediately and even a few weeks/months out from surgery.  By now, and for a while, I've been cleared to eat whatever I want.  Of course, for the best outcomes and weight loss there are nutrition guidelines, but as far as what?  Nothing is really forbidden.  I just try things I haven't had in a while and see how they sit.  As I could have predicted I've basically had no issues.  You read about people who have a lot of trouble eating certain things.  On the one hand I'm happy that I don't have that and that I feel completely normal (aside from getting full fast).  But it's kind of nice too that they can't eat certain things.

So, breakfast.  Lately I've been on a DD kick.  I get a medium iced decaf coffee (cream and Splenda.  I can't do it skim, I just can't).

and to eat?  A DD bacon, egg and cheese wake-up wrap.

It's 160 correction: 180 calories of perfectly portioned (for me) goodness.  My Mom ate one and was like "that's all??"  so they are small but it's great for me.  It's always just enough, never too much or too little.  In fact, it's the way I should eat at every meal (just enough not too much or too little).  But, that's really hard when you like something.  In this case though there is only so much of it and then it's gone.  I wish everything in the world came in a mini version to make it easier for me.  I still suffer, try as I might, from my eyes being way way larger than my stomach.  I just take it day by day and try every meal to do better!
