Week 20 Update

I feel like I'm in a good groove having had two great weeks in a row.  I feel confident hopeful that I'll meet my stretch goal of 90lbs by my birthday (this Wednesday the 31st).  I also have been experiencing a lot of NSVs (non-scale victories).  Seeing the number go down on the scale is SO fun, don't get me wrong, but truly it's the little things in life that you suddenly realize really set you apart.  I don't think non-morbidly obese people can ever really understand the limitations of living in  a world not built for their size.

First, the numbers:

HW: 335
SW: 327
CW: 246.2
Loss this week: 4.4 (same as last week!)

Total loss: 88.8 (let's just say 89, mmmmkay).

Reminder, my stretch goal of 90 is 1.2 lbs away and I have to weigh in on Wednesday.  Fingers crossed.

Now, NSVs.

This is me at the Ritz-Carlton Saturday night.  My husband and I had a staycation night away to celebrate our upcoming birthdays.  After dinner we had massages.  Here I am in the locker room with my robe.  Now, in the past, robes at spas NEVER fit.  I'd have to (embarrassingly) ask for a larger size or just struggle with the small one that didn't close and hold a towel in front of me so no one saw my lady bits.  But Saturday, I looked at the tag nervously - "L" -  oh god a large, that's it?  I put it on and.....well, as you can see it completely fit.  The belt isn't doing my boobs any favors but IT FIT.  Like fit, and tied, with belt to spare.   It was photo worthy.

My second NSV has no picture but we wandered around Nordstrom Rack a little bit and they had North Face fleeces on sale.  I tried on a women's XL, on a lark.  Last year I bought a North Face fleece and I had to buy a Men's 3XL, and it was tight across the butt/hips.  I put on that XL and....IT FIT.  I mean, it had the same butt/thigh snugness that the 3XL had had last year and it was probably too small in my chest to wear over anything more than the thin shirt I had on but WHO CARES.  It fit and zipped.  Maybe by when it's actually fleece-wearing weather I can really wear one!

  1. That's awesome! One of my favorite NSVs was being able to fit into cute underwear!

  3. HA! Well thanks Jenn. They don't feel fabulous as much as frumpy saggy boobies, but I'll take it! ;)
