Secret Goal

I made goals on this blog that I've been updating but I also keep a 'weight loss tracker' spreadsheet where I track week over week losses (and gains) and %loss, etc.  Way back when I set this up just before my surgery I put a little goal on here that I hoped was realistic but wasn't sure.  All the goals I have on this blog are in general "to lose 100 lbs....". The secret goal on my spreadsheet had a time component too "to lose 80 lbs by my birthday".


My 36th (ouch...) birthday is July 31st and as of today I'm at 78.4 lost.  With three weeks to go I feel safe saying I'll *likely* make it.  Not a bad guesstimate of how long that would take to lose, huh?   I think I might shoot for 90 by my birthday!

Right now I'm also "only 19.6 above my lowest ever as an adult (237).  Getting to and below that number is when shit is going to start to get real for me that I might actually one day weigh below 200 lbs.  Surreal.

While this is all phenomenal if you step back and temper it with the overall goal, it's more humbling.  If I get down to 175 (which I think is my goal, though still above a 'healthy' weight for my height) that's ANOTHER 80 lbs from where I sit today.  So, even though I've lost ~80 lbs, I'm only 50% of the way through my journey.  Yikes.
