I saw my PCP this morning. I've had borderline hypertension for a while now (and had gestational hypertension and Pre-e while pregnant...). It was creeping up though once I started seeing my PCP regularly in Sept 2012. She even put me on BP meds - which I actually never took b/c my husband is a physician and kind of disagreed with the kind she gave me/way she diagnosed it and he freaked me out and it was like 2 weeks before surgery anyway.....
So, she was thrilled today when my BP was 128/75 (I had been in the 140s/100s range). So it was a huge improvement. I am so happy and so was she.
She told me she has many patients she feels would benefit from some type of WLS but they let fear paralyze them as they get bigger and biggier. She was thrilled to hear me say that I'd do it over again in a heartbeat.
