Insurance Gods

My fate is in the hands of the Insurance Gods.  I've confirmed that my insurance company is in receipt of my file from the Surgeon's office (that girl is still out of the office, clearly there is something going on...).

Rewinding a few days, I ended up calling each day until I was finally put through to his, very frazzled, PA.  She was abrupt and rude and cut me off saying "we're very busy this week, but yes I am handling all the pre-certifications since [OtherGirl] is still out...".  I kind of lost it a little and said "LOOK.  I get that you're slammed and that it sucks you're picking up all her slack.  I GET IT.  But, your office still owes it to me to confirm that my file, my exact case, is on your list getting looked at and not just some "I am doing all the pre-certs" bull-shit line".  I gave her my name and asked her to go find my file and tell me the status.  In a huff she confirmed that it was one of the ones on her list and she knows the surgery date is March 11th.

Cutting her some slack I waited two days and, instead of calling her again, I called insurance.  They were able to tell me that the file had come in that day and I'd have their response by Feb 27th.  Wahoo!

Fingers crossed insurance just approves and it and doesn't delay or ask for more info.  I know I qualify and have done all they require  - but still, it's insurance, you just never know.

17 days.  Hoooooly crap.  So much to do like.....start finding a protein drink I can tolerate.
