Who Am I?

I used to be a boot-cut jeans girl through and through.  I needed the visual "weight" at the bottom to sort of even me out.

As you may have read in an earlier post, I was really keen on trying out the riding boots over jeans look.  Only thing is, the jeans I had weren't cutting it.  Get skinny jeans!  They said.  Just wear leggings! They said.  I couldn't.  Not me.  Skinny legs of any kind stick to my calves and I thought I was just too big.

I ended up getting some "curvy skinny" jeans from LOFT.  I felt rebellious.  It was a huge departure for me.  As I got more used to the feeling, I started to like it.  Who.am.I?  Not only that, but things started to not be 'skinny' enough…

My current favorite jeans are Gap Always straight.  I had them in a 34 (18) and recently realized I'm wearing them too large and got 33 (16) and truly could probably wear a 14.    Maybe.   Not only that, but the straights aren't great in boots.  They're awesome with flats, but tucked into tall boots?  The knees get really bunchy.

Then, my LOFT skinnies I wore the other day just bagged on me in a way I hadn't noticed before.

Not a cute look
I bought them 6 weeks ago (I just looked - I remember when I first wore them) and apparently I've lost 13 lbs since then (again, just looked it up).  It's strange because I'm losing so much more slowly now, which is fine, that I don't realize that it adds up.  In a way it makes me not want to buy clothes, but clothes are so fun now!

Anyway, the LOFT jeans are now too large and I don't think I need 'curvy'.  My butt and legs aren't the issue (my waist is).  I still don't feel super comfortable in jeggings (something about all that spandex)

Not so sure about leggings…..
so I was back to the drawing board….

LOFT had a 40% off sale last week so I got a pair of "Modern Skinny" and "Super Skinny" - both 33 (16) like my 'Curvy" ones were.  I tried the Super Skinny ones first just to get them over with and…they fit.  Er. What?  NOTHING CALLED SUPER SKINNY HAS EVER BEEN ON THIS BODY NEVER NOT EVER.

From Curvy to Super Skinny.  Huh?  This learning to shop in new sizes and figuring out how things are supposed to fit is hard work.  I feel like I'm going through some sort of awkward teenager phase.  Not only that, but do I really need a 14?  Shopping online is now a hassle because I want to try various sizes! (LOFT doesn't carry 16 in store.  Don't get me started)
