Anyway, this trip was a belated 5th anniversary trip as well as a post-surgery celebration. It was amazing and romantic and fun. We did so much and it was amazing to not feel held back by my size at all. I did a 4 mile hike into and out of a volcanic crater, people.

| Yea, walked around the rim on the right, into the crater, across the crater floor and back out the other side. |
I was nervous about the hike, particularly the walk out but I just got into the zone, walked alone and just pounded it out. 20 mins or so of straight non-stop vertical (switchbacks) hiking out. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a little bit weepy when I was done. I DID IT!
I planned to be pretty loose about food on vacation and learning how to vacation with my new stomach. I had bites of dessert, I drank alcohol, etc. But, overall, I remained ACTIVE. My goal was to maintain my weight (215). Despite having horrible constipation the entire trip (TMI..) I arrived home weighing 211.8. WOOOOOOOOT. I actually lost weight! Can't believe it.
Good for you, Megan! That's awesome. I've found in the past that sometimes weight loss will just keep trucking along if you keep your body guessing. So having the different food (even if it's not the best stuff to be eating!) + the extra exercise/activity may have been exactly what you needed. Congrats!
